Concert director Daphne Wharton and Infrastructure manager Tony Wharton celebrate their 40th Wedding Anniversary at the concert. Congratulations and thank you for all your hard work.
Multi-instrumentalist, singer and songwriter Midge Ure not only fronted classic 80s pop group Ultravox, he had previously played in Slik, Rich Kids, Thin Lizzy and Visage, of the hit Fade To Grey. Ultravox's best-known song Vienna is another influential 1980s pop classic, as is the later Dancing With Tears In Our Eyes. Ultravox reformed in 2009, and last year released a new album Brilliant.
Midge Ure also co-wrote and produced the classic Do They Know It’s Christmas? with Bob Geldof for Band Aid, and alongside with Geldof, was instrumental to the charity's work which developed into the Live Aid concert. Ure was also the musical director of the Prince’s Trust concert series and the Concert For Nelson Mandela.
As a solo artist, he enjoyed a Number 1 hit in 1985 with If I Was.
He has toured since to great acclaim, and his fine back catalogue of Ultravox and solo material and great live performance style made this an evening to remember.

The Chuck Farley Band
The Chucks have been described as R’n’B mixed with hints of Little Feat, Ry Cooder and The Band, but that’s a rather simplistic description.
Individually the guys cover a myriad of musical styles, so be prepared to hear some interesting mixtures from some excellent musicians really enjoying themselves.
