Hampton Pool is an educational charity and a private not
for profit Trust run by a voluntary board of
trustees and managed by YMCA London South West. As leisure industry professionals, we work with a broad range of people whose needs are diverse. We provide supported housing to young, vulnerable people; childcare and youth work services, health and fitness activities and care, conference and catering facilities.
Lifeguard – Bank staff*

£8.40 per hour and based at Hampton Pool, TW12
We are currently seeking a vigilant and conscientious Lifeguard who will assist with delivering a programme of high quality swimming and dry-side activities, ensuring they are promoted and run efficiently throughout the year, in addition to ensuring the safety of our pool users and promoting the wellbeing of Hampton Pool. You will also undertake specific tasks as a member of the team to assist in the running and further development of the pool and its facilities.
It is essential that you are approachable with an aptitude for relating to and dealing with a wide range of people and to have a working knowledge of Health and Safety standards, emergency regulations and to comply with all requirements for both staff and the general public. It is essential to hold a pool lifeguard qualification; if not qualified, you will need to have achieved this within two months of taking up duties. The Pool’s services are very weather dependent, with different opening hours in the summer winter. The Summer season can be extremely busy and the winter period quieter, but with our regular users and classes keeping staff busy.
This role is subject to safeguarding checks including a DBS check in line with YMCA LSW procedures. YMCA LSW is a Christian organisation and as an employee, you will be required to respect the Christian ethos of the YMCA and uphold its values.
