We are an educational charity and a private not for profit Trust run by a voluntary board of trustees and managed by leisure industry professionals.

Poolside Swim & BBQ Club, the swimming and social club, is the focus for the valuable voluntary help. During the high season it meets four times each week at exclusive swimming sessions and members are active in fund raising and helping Hampton Pool in many other ways. Why not find out more?

Demand and the time of year determine opening hours but opportunities are provided to swim each day and every day, including Christmas Day where some 1,000 people enjoy the pool.

£100,000 donated to Hampton Pool Trust in memory of Milly Dowler

The Hampton Pool Trust has learnt that it is to receive a share of the £1m donated to charities in the memory of Milly Dowler. The donation is part of a settlement agreement between the Dowler family and News International.

The Hampton Pool Trust is extremely grateful to the Dowler family, who are users of the open-air pool, for choosing it as one of the beneficiaries of this donation.

As the announcement was made so recently, no specific plans are currently in place as to how the money will be invested.  Those involved with Hampton Pool will be meeting in the next few weeks to decide how the money is to be used in a way that will bring benefit to the local community whilst leaving a long lasting legacy. 

Daphne Wharton, Chair of Hampton Pool Trust, said of the news “On behalf of the Hampton Pool Trust and YMCA London South West (who manage the site on the Trust’s behalf), I’d like to thank the Dowler family for thinking of Hampton Pool  when they were deciding the charities to which the donation should go. The donation will make a huge impact on the services we provide to the community. We’re aware that it is being made in memory of Milly and we are determined to ensure that the money is invested in a fitting way”.
