National Pool Lifeguard Qualification courses
The National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) is a nationwide recognised qualification and will give you an in-depth knowledge into first aid, basic life support, aquatic rescue skills and poolside communication. These courses are run over 5 days and require you to complete a swim test of 3 lengths of lifesavers (head up) front crawl, two of sidestroke and one of backstroke as well as swimming two lengths of front crawl in 1 minute 20 seconds and picking up a manikin from the deepest part of the pool. The swim test will be organised by one of our staff members before the start of your course.
To retain your NPLQ, you must attend 20 hours of training over a two year period and the course must be renewed every two years. Leisure centres run training sessions for staff but if, you are looking to renew your certificate then you can join one of our NPLQ courses for two days, provided we have the space.
