Hot on the heels of its energetic and exciting production of Babe the Sheep Pig comes another fantastic show from the Theatreworks stable – written for young people and their families, the world famous story of George and The Dragon is retold using life size puppetry, music, song, verse, ‘slapstick’ and a good dose of audience participation. So badly behaved parents beware – you may be put in the stocks!
The story
Join George on his journey to Egypt to fight the fearsome, smoke breathing dragon. Does he save the Princess from its clutches or does the Princess save George? Who does he encounter along the way? Can you help him in his quest? Whether you are a Knight or a Princess, George needs your help.
Dress up for the event if you like but do be sure your cloaks are warm, take part in the Knights and Princesses Trail and make a shield prior to the performance – you may need it to protect you from the Dragon as we’ve been told he has really bad breath!
What the critics say
“A sure fire winner with the kids” Nottingham Post.
“As the story unfolded the enchanting tale and clever acting had the children hooked” Lancashire Evening Post.
Performed by Theatreworks.
A pre-theatre swim is included in the ticket price.
