Access for all at Hampton Pool with our new chair hoist

Thanks to the money raised from Emily Morris's sponsored swim of the treacherous Cook Strait in New Zealand last year, Hampton Pool now has a mechanical chair hoist. This will allow access to the pool for customers with walking difficulties.

If you need to use the chair hoist please don't hesitate to ask a member of staff.

Chair hoist launch party

On Thursday 23 June 2011, we held a party to launch the new chair hoist. There was free entry for the disabled and those with special needs and it was a great success.

Emily Morris commented "I am so glad that Hampton now has its chair. Hampton is a very special place that should be enjoyed and accessible to all. With the kind donations of my supporters for my swim across New Zealands Cook Strait, this has made the chair hoist possible and now we can all celebrate that Hampton is accessible to the whole community! Thank you to all those that supported me and helped to raise the money for this fantastic piece of equipment."

She continued "Now one last favour... please spread the word that we have the hoist!"
