Hampton
Great Whites Swimming Club
Hampton Great Whites Swimming Club aims to promote competitive swimming and to train young swimmers of all ages to a high standard. All club teaching and coaching methods are devised with these aims in mind and all swimmers are taught appropriate techniques to achieve their maximum potential. Although the Club
is ambitious, it is our aim to develop swimmers without undue pressure, in a friendly, fun and supportive environment.
The club believes that all its members – swimmers, coaches and parents – should feel strongly that they are an important part of a club with a strong team spirit, working together and supporting each other to reach new levels of achievement. It is encouraged that members achieving the necessary standard will take part in the swimming Club teams in a variety of events.
Squad sessions are on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday afternoons (see timetable below). As well as improving technique and stamina through lane swimming, on Thursdays there is dry-side activity for up to an hour. This improves co-ordination, reaction and core skills and is also great for team building and injecting a competitive streak!
Swimmers should be
8 years or older and be able to swim at least 400 metres (16 lengths of a standard 25 metre pool and
12 of our 36 metre pool) and familiar with all 4 swimming strokes.
